Welcome to Trek for Treasure 2021!
In a time long forgotten, six realms ruled the earth; they consisted of the elves, dwarfs, dragons, mermaids, goblins, and humankind. Each realm safe-guarded a magical gemstone, but these majestic treasures vanished during a great war among the realms long ago. Can your team uncover the clues and find these lost treasures?
2021 Trek Information
We’re pulling out all the stops on this year’s theme! For the first time in Trek for Treasure history, six teams will earn the distinction of the 2021 Trek for Treasure Champions and take home a special prize.
This year’s adventure will lead your team on a quest to find 6 hidden *gemstones. Beginning June 4th, each hike will provide the information you need to solve the riddles and obtain six curious illustrations. The illustrations contain clues hidden within them as to the location of the gemstones depicted in the picture.
As the hikes continue over the summer, see if your team can determine one or more of the Final Challenge locations scattered throughout the area. A series of cryptic verses will be issued to all qualifying teams on the morning of the Final Challenge. Your team will work together to match up the verses with the illustrations and use both to locate the hidden treasure!

2021 Theme Story
The Lost Jewels of the Six Realms
Before the world was ruled by science and reason, there was an age of great magic when mythical creatures roamed the land alongside humankind. Little evidence is left from this enchanted era, and most scholars consider the tales fit only for children’s books. However, Sir Mark Pearson is not your average scholar, and he is certain this magical time was real.
Legend has it that six realms covered the earth during this time, each ruled by creatures of great prestige: elves, dwarfs, dragons, mermaids, goblins, and humankind. Then, as now, both magical creatures and humankind had a lust for gold, silver, and other valuable metals. However, diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and other precious gems were valued the most. Gemstones were exceptional – they were rare, colorful, and beautiful rocks made from the earth.
Each realm safe-guarded one magical gemstone. The inhabitants of the six realms believed these gems carried valuable powers that protected the people from malevolent forces. The elders of the six realms considered the gems their most precious treasures.
To keep these priceless treasures safe, the grand elders of each realm hid their precious stones in sacred places. The elders then wrote down the locations of their gemstones in secret journals, which contained a series of clues, puzzles, and a map to the site of each hiding place. The magical gems can only be found by discovering the journals, deciphering the clues, and solving the puzzles contained within.
Several years ago, Mark acquired a rare, ancient book titled “The Magical Jewels of the Six Realms.” In this book, the author wrote about the great realms of old, the missing enchanted gemstones, and the possible whereabouts of the sacred journals.
With this information, Mark spent several years and made countless attempts to locate the hidden journals, and has recently succeeded in finding them! He now needs your help to decipher the secret messages contained within, travel the trails of the ancient ones, and help him locate the lost gemstones of the six magical realms. Finding one of these treasures would be considered among the most significant discoveries of all time!
Sir Mark needs your help to decipher the information within the six secret journals. It is up to you and your team to travel the trails of the grand Northwest, solve the riddles, and help us discover the lost gemstones of the six magical realms.
