The Lost Treasures of Time
My great-grandfather, Benjamin Pearson, was known for his strange inventions. He was the kind of man who would disappear into his workshop for weeks, emerging with machines that whistled and whirred — contraptions no one quite understood.
He was obsessed with the concept of time travel, and believed with all his heart that one day people would be able to travel to the past and future. Growing up, I always believed he would invent a machine that would allow us to travel together throughout time. But as the years passed, his repeated attempts at time travel failed and so did my belief.
Until, one day after his passing, I was given a letter left to me in his will. My grandfather’s letter revealed he had created a portal allowing him to travel through time. He shared he had kept this discovery from me because he had feared for my safety. During his time travels, he discovered that different civilizations had forged unique artifacts to help maintain balance and harmony in the world. As each artifact was lost or stolen over generations, the world lost balance and chaos arose.
Inside the letter, there was a map to his secret workshop along with a cryptic note.
When I followed the map to his hidden lab, I found a gleaming metal archway humming with energy. Here was his life’s work — a portal to the past and future. Beside the portal, a control panel showed coordinates to different points in history and a list of six unique artifacts needed to restore balance in the world. I took a deep breath… and stepped through.
This year’s Trek for Treasure promises to be an unforgettable journey! Together, you will face challenges that will test your wits, skills, and teamwork. In this thrilling adventure, your team will travel through time (figuratively), visiting extraordinary places from the past and the future. Along the way, you will search for lost artifacts, each a vital piece to restoring balance to the world.
The stakes are high but, with determination and teamwork, you will overcome every obstacle, ensuring the legacy of this adventure lives on for years to come. Are you ready to answer the call? Let’s hit the trails!
